The Rotary Steerable PDC Bit and Downhole Motor used in the shale gas block

OVERVIEW

The Rotary Steerable PDC Bit and Downhole Motor independently developed by DeepFast had been successfully matched with the imported RSS in the horizontal well interval, Wei202H2-10 (2936m to 4237m, Longmaxi formation), drilled by rig team 50022 of Great Wall Drilling Company.

CHALLENGES

In the unconventional shale gas, the drilling operator would like to  minimize Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) by eliminating costly trips and additional equipment associated with multiple runs.

SOLUTIONS

DeepFast offered PDC Bit and Downhole Motor for RSS to optimize directional drillingby high rotary speed, stability and long lifetime.

PERFORMANCE

• Total footage as be 1, 301 meters, of which 700 meters were drilled in horizontal interval.
• Working time of Downhole Motor was 229 hours and the ROP was 11. 12m/h.
• The bit kept at almost 95% as the originalone.
